The 12 Air-conditioned Chalets, comprising of 14 Bedrooms are closer to the beach, and the baths and showers overlook its own private garden courtyard. Each chalet has an individual walkway to the beach with a private Sala furnished with day beds for relaxation and massages. Interflowing swimming pools, Island style bar with martini seats, boma & deck with open fire and floating jetty (to ensure easier access) completes the island experience.

Situated within the pristine Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary, Dugong Beach Lodge combines two biospheres which make for a unique wilderness and beach experience. Located a half-hour boat transfer from Vilanculos, Dugong Beach Lodge is set on the San Sebastian Peninsula, an area of magnificent diversity, from the estuary and sand dunes to inland freshwater lakes and mangrove swamps. The lodge is ideal for honeymooners, offering the tranquility of miles and miles of secluded, dandy beaches and an ocean panorama broken only by the characteristic dhows and dolphins. The distinctly Mozambican cuisine includes an abundance of seafood. This diverse eco-system of wilderness and wetland, with its powder-white beaches and crystal clear water is host to a magnificent array of beautiful creatures such as the leatherback turtle, sailfish, manta ray, dolphin and flocks of flamingos and pelicans.  Most importantly it is the only site in the world where the near-extinct dugong (which resembles a sea lion) is found.

For the more energetic, activities include scuba diving, snorkelling, trips on board a dhow (traditional Arab sailing boat), fishing and excursions.
