Accommodation at Marlin Lodge

Situated on the southwest shore of Benguerua island, Marlin Lodge offers some of the finest scuba diving sites and some of the best deep-sea fishing in the world. This unspoilt area exudes exoticism and romance, with pearly sea views and long white beaches. Marlin Lodge accomodates 34 guests in 14 luxury beach chalets, and 3 executive beach suites. There are wonderful palm trees set in the indigenous gardens, and the sea views are spectacular. Outings of scuba diving and snorkelling, combined with a beach picnic, are a favourite among visitors. Day trips on the Catamaran will take you to the Islands in and around the Archipelago. Deep sea fishing, wind surfing, ocean-ski paddling, and hobie cat sailing are also offered at the hotel. The hotel also arranges private dinners on your chalet patio, or on the beach outside your suite. Picnics are arranged on secluded, and romantic area of the beach. Special packages are offered for honeymooners.

The inside of the private luxury chalets is constructed with more sophisticated finishes. These chalets are ideal for guests staying a longer period of time, as they offer more space and comfort. The Executive suite's sheer size is what makes them so breathtaking. This room is the perfect haven for the discerning traveler. The main dry season runs from April to November and during this time, daytime temperatures average 24oC. The rainy season is from November to March and temperatures average 27oC. The country’s highest temperatures occur in the north around Pemba and west towards Tete. Three mainland national parks occur in Mozambique, namely the Gorongosa, the Zinave and the Banhine. Portuguese is the official language and is widely spoken in larger towns. Of the numerous African languages the most common is the Makua-Lomwe language. Sena-Nyanja is spoken in the centre and Tsonga in the south.Mozambique’s local currency is the Metical, however US dollars and SA Rand are widely accepted. Children over the age of 14 are welcome.
