The Long Beach is situated in the picturesque lobster-fishing village of Kommetjie, a short thirty-minute drive from Cape Town. The beach, literally on your doorstep, is eight kilometers of fine, white powdered sand, so pristine that it alone will leave you breathless. Add to this the uninterrupted views across to Hout Bay and Table Mountain, and you have the ultimate unspoilt paradise. Cape Point and Chapmans Peak drive are 15 minutes away , and Simonstown and Boulders Beach a mere 10 minutes. Activities in the area include horse riding on Noordehoek beach, township tours, picnicking, guided baboon walks in the mountains, surfing,
kayaking, cheese tasting at Imhoff farm, seafood restaurants such as Harbour House and Live Bait in Kalk Bay, Rioja in the heart of Kommetjie and crayfishing in season (November to April)
