Self-Drive Kruger Travel Package

Self-driving from Johannesburg is a comfortable, easy journey to the Mpumalanga Region. The dramatic landscapes, and wildlife viewing, make this area one of the most impressive destinations to visit. The cultural, and scenic beauty of the areas surrounding the Kruger National Park allow you to spend many days just exploring and sight seeing, a nice alternative to your game viewing activities you will enjoy during your safari in this itinerary as well.

Day 1
Today you will depart from Johannesburg for your self-drive to the Kruger/Mpumalanga region. Your first introduction to this area will be a stopover at Dawson’s Lodge, a short 3 hours away. This lodge offers great activities including horse riding, fishing, hiking or take a bicycle for a picnic in the countryside to relax and contemplate the qualities of life, that here, make a truly splendid place. The resident giraffe, and general plains game are a good induction to the Kruger, which follows the next day.

Day 2
After your breakfast you will depart from Dawson’s, and venture to the Kruger National Park. Entrance through the main Paul Kruger gate leads you to the Tinga Game Lodge, which is located on it’s own private concession within the Kruger National Park. Take the afternoon to relax on your deck or in your private plunge pool watching the animals coming to drink from the Sabi River below.

What Happens on Safari?
Safaris take place each morning and evening in open Land rovers, which drive through a wide variety of habitats, allowing you to view the vast interactions of the wild. Day 5

After your morning game viewing activity, you will return to the lodge for breakfast and some time at leisure to freshen up and pack. You will be moving on to an area outside the Kruger in the heart of the Panorama Route. Over the next 2 days you will be able to explore the Blyde River Canyon, make a stop at God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Pilgrim’s Rest. Alternatively Cybele Forest lodge within it’s 300 acres of forest, meadows and mountain paradise, is the perfect place to rest up before your long journey home. The forest health Spa or your private heated swimming pools are perfect spots to melt away the stress, and rejuvenate before returning home.

Day 7
After your morning at leisure and a hearty breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Johannesburg .

Should travelers neglect to obtain this document before leaving their country of residence, they will not be permitted to hire a vehicle in South Africa.
